About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electromechanical Engineer with strong project management and coordination skills to join the owner's team for a major petroleum storage terminal development in Egypt.
The role will initially focus on coordinating engineering consultants, monitoring design progress, resolving outstanding technical matters and preparing the project for execution.
As the project advances, responsibilities will expand to procurement, supplier and contractor coordination, construction follow-up, testing and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering consultants across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil and marine disciplines.
- Monitor engineering deliverables, resolve design interfaces and follow up on outstanding technical matters.
- Organize progress meetings, maintain action registers and report project status, risks and delays to management.
- Review technical specifications, scopes of work, tender documents and equipment requirements.
- Support technical bid evaluations, supplier selection, procurement and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers and contractors throughout procurement and execution.
- Monitor schedules, budgets, milestones and contractual obligations.
- Follow up on construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with approved specifications, quality requirements and HSE standards.
- Support project handover and operational readiness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including engineering coordination and project management.
- Proven experience in petroleum storage terminals, tank farms, oil and gas facilities or similar industrial projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of storage tanks, piping, pumps, firefighting, electrical systems, instrumentation and automation.
- Experience coordinating engineering consultants, suppliers and construction contractors.
- Experience with an owner's project team or Project Management Consultant (PMC) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of procurement, tender evaluation, contract administration and construction management.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- PMP certification is an advantage.
- Good communication and reporting skills in English and Arabic.
- Willingness to undertake regular project site visits.
